2022 Tulane International Baseball Arbitration Competition

All Texas Law students are invited to tryout to participate in the 2022 Tulane International Baseball Arbitration Competition. The competition is the only moot court for baseball salary arbitration in the country and is a great opportunity for any students interested in sports law. Judges for the competition include front-office executives and in-house counsel for MLB teams, as well as MLB player agents. Students are invited to fill out the application below either individually or in groups of two or three. The application has additional details about the competition and the Texas Baseball Arbitration Program for students who are interested. The  provided spreadsheet (also below) will be helpful for answering the application question.

The competition will take place between January 19-21, 2021, and will most likely be in-person in New Orleans.

Texas Law placed second at last year’s competition and is excited to go for the title this year. The team will be coached by last year’s participants, who are current 3Ls, as well UT Law alumnus Matt McClendon, who is involved with all aspects of salary arbitration at Boras Corporation, the preeminent sports agency for Major League Baseball players. Existing knowledge of baseball salary arbitration is not required.
