The Texas Law Parents Association serves as a platform for parents of enrolled law students to be involved with the School and to support Dean Farnsworth’s programs and initiatives. The Association was formed in 2013 by Fran and Mark Berg, JD ’83, of Dallas, and Amy and Marcus Schwarz, JD ’73, of Hallettsville, who have students at the school. They envisioned a social group that would bring Texas Law families together to get to know each other and their children. Along with that was a desire to raise scholarship funding to advance Dean Farnsworth’s goal of enabling the law school to enroll the best and brightest students. To this end, the Parents Association is working to raise a $1 million endowment to fund student scholarships.

There are two levels of membership in the Parents Association: the Circle of Founders, and Annual Memberships.
Members of the Circle of Founders make a one-time donation/pledge of $5,000 to the Parents Association Scholarship Fund and enjoy membership in the Association for the duration of their student’s tenure at the Law School.
Families can instead join the Association with an Annual Membership by making a $1,000 donation to the Parents Association Scholarship Fund or any area of the Law School that is meaningful to their student.
