SUMMARY:Fair Housing Conference
DESCRIPTION:<p>This conference will convene national experts and leading local practitioners to examine new legal developments regarding city and state obligations to further fair housing opportunities for persons of color. It will feature keynote speaker Mercedes Marquez, Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development at HUD. It will also address new Federal regulations under review; the Texas fair housing settlement involving $1.7 billion in federal CDBG funding; hands-on policy tools to create fair housing opportunities in inclusive communities; best practices for making fair housing an effective aspect of city planning; and new national models for developing a legally compliant and effective Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing. </p>\n\nIf you need an accommodation to participate in this event, please contact the event sponsor or the Texas Law Special Events Office at specialevents@law.utexas.edu no later than seven business days prior to the event.
