DESCRIPTION:<p>In May 2012, Presidents, Prime Ministers, and other leaders from throughout the world will gather in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil at the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development.  
  The gathering will mark the 20th anniversary of the first  “Earth Summit” also in Rio in 1992, which saw the adoption of major treaties on climate change and biodiversity and Agenda 21 – a blueprint for sustainable development.   
  Mr.  Scherr will describe the current state of preparations for the 2012 Earth Summit and the prospects for making progress on the green economy and governance in our increasingly interconnected and globalized world.
