SUMMARY:Tarlton Talks
DESCRIPTION:
Do you wonder what your professors work on outside of the classroom? Here’s your chance to find out! Professors speak to students in an informal setting about their personal research – what interests them, what they’ve learned, how they do it. Get an inside look into legal scholarship and a chance to interact with professors outside of the classroom. Our next speaker is Professor Emily Kadens, who specializes in European legal history. Her current research focuses on the historical problem of how custom functioned as law, the history of bankruptcy, and early modern commercial law. Learn how a legal historian uses rare books and archival manuscripts to uncover the past of the law. Join us on Wednesday, February 23 at 3:30 pm in the Sheffield Room. Light refreshments will be served.
\n\nIf you need an accommodation to participate in this event, please contact the event sponsor or the Texas Law Special Events Office at specialevents@law.utexas.edu no later than seven business days prior to the event.
