SUMMARY:CANCELED: Senator Ellis - 82nd Legislative Session
DESCRIPTION:<p>Senator Rodney Ellis was elected to the Texas Senate in 1990.  He has passed over 500 pieces of legislation including the TEXAS Grant program, which has disbursed $1.8 billion in tuition dollars and fees to over 207,000 students.  Senator Ellis is a leader in economic development, education, civil rights, responsible environmental policy, tax cuts for the middle class, criminal justice, and workforce development issues.  On March 9th the senator will be discussing the 82nd Legislative Session in the Auditorium at 2:00.  </p>
  <p>The session began Tuesday, January 11th and will conclude May 30th.  Governor Rick Perry designated two emergency issues for the session: 1) abolishing sanctuary cities in Texas, and 2) protecting private property rights in eminent domain cases.  Come hear Senator Rodney Ellis talk about this already controversial legislative session.
