Human Rights Law Society is putting on, for the general body, their second educational event on the basics of Human Rights Law.

Daniel M. Brinks, Associate Professor at UT and Co-Director of the Bernard and Audre Rapoport Center for Human Rights and Justice, will be narrowing in on a category of Human Rights, talking specifically about Economic, Social, and Cultural rights.

Professor Brinks' research focuses on the role of the law and courts in supporting or extending human rights and many of the basic rights associated with democracy, with a primary regional interest in Latin America. Professor Brinks was born and raised in Argentina and practiced law in the U.S. for nearly ten years before turning to academia. He holds a PhD from the University of Notre Dame and a JD from the University of Michigan.

The Thurgood Marshall Legal Society is having its last general body meeting of the semester. We will be wrapping up the year, discussing the upcoming regional convention, and eating with Dean Farnsworth.
