DESCRIPTION:<p>(Actual time is from 1:15-2:05 p.m.) Students interested in making pro bono work an important part of their law firm careers are invited to learn more about the benefits of pro bono work. <a href="http://www.akingump.com/en/lawyers-advisors/steven-h-schulman.html">Steven Schulman, Partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer &amp; Feld LLP (Washington, DC)</a>, will discuss law firm pro bono programs and the importance of pro bono service in your legal career. Information on <a href="http://www.akingump.com/en/experience/practices/pro-bono/pro-bono-scholars-program.html">Akin Gump’s Pro Bono Scholars Program</a> will also be provided. Akin Gump’s Pro Bono Scholars program is now available in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, and Washington, DC. Upon commencement of work at the public interest organization, Pro Bono Scholars will receive a stipend of $20,000, and are paid the standard summer associate salary while at the firm. Lunch will be served and is sponsored by Akin Gump. RSVP by Tuesday, January 14, on <a title="UT Law Symplicity" href="https://law-utexas-csm.symplicity.com/students/">UT Law Symplicity</a> by selecting the 'Events' tab.</p>
