SUMMARY:Restorative Justice Lecture
DESCRIPTION:<p>Texas is prime for the use of evidence-based restorative justice programs to reduce racial disproportionality in school discipline, prioritize victim needs, and obtain better outcomes for low-level offenders, including students, who otherwise get caught up in costly judicial and administrative proceedings.</p>
  <p>Join Justice Janine Geske as she speaks about recently passed legislation in Colorado and her moving experiences in creating opportunities for increased victim satisfaction, greater public safety, and substantial cost-savings to traditional correctional sanctions.</p>
  <p>Justice Janine Geske is a mediator in conflict resolution and internationally renowned speaker about the modern day development of restorative justice for formal and informal justice processes. She serves as a distinguished professor of law at Marquette University Law School and director of the law school’s Restorative Justice Initiative.</p>
  <p>Presented by the Institute for Restorative Justice and Restorative Dialogue.
