SUMMARY:Texas Law - Personal Finance Series #1
DESCRIPTION:
The Financial Review is the Texas Law School's personal finance series. The first session will be offered to law students during 1L orientation on Friday, August 22 in Francis Auditorium from 2:10-3:10 and 3:20-4:20, but all Texas Law students are welcome. Students will learn how to pay for law school and receive tips ranging from affordable housing options in Austin to how to cut expenses or add income as a student. The series will be taught by Austin entrepreneur, Carly DeFelice.

As a former Longhorn student, Carly knows what campus life is like. She studied Finance at the McCombs School of Business and at age 23 she started her first business in Austin. She went from owing $34,000 in student loans and a car loan to paying it all off with a nest egg of over $100,000 by age 26. She then created Cash Money Revolution to teach other young professionals how to gain financial independence through many mediums such as a blog, a five-week course, and a financial boot camp. In partnering with the Student Financial Aid Office, she designed The Financial Review to help current law students understand money.

\n\nIf you need an accommodation to participate in this event, please contact the event sponsor or the Texas Law Special Events Office at specialevents@law.utexas.edu no later than seven business days prior to the event.
