SUMMARY:Private Prisons: Criminal Justice Issue
DESCRIPTION:<p>Join ACS and criminal justice advocates for a conversation about the private detention industry in the United States. Experts and advocates will discuss the proliferation of the for-profit incarceration model, the consequences for detained individuals and targeted communities, and the challenges the industry poses to advocates and attorneys. </p>
  <p>Our conversation will include Bob Libal, Executive Director of Grassroots Leadership. Grassroots Leadership fights to end for-profit incarceration and reduce reliance on criminalization and detention through direct action, organizing, research, and public education. We will also have a speaker from the Texas Criminal Justice Coalition (TCJC). TCJC advances solutions that transform the adult and youth justice systems to strengthen families and foster safer communities. </p>
