DESCRIPTION:<p>Working for a nonprofit or government agency this summer? This session will prepare you to thrive and get the most out of your summer work experience. Panelists will discuss how to handle opportunities and challenges that come up in these unique work environments, including receiving great work and supervision, and steering clear of ethical pitfalls. Panelists include Sarah Mae Jennings, 3L, former intern at Orleans Public Defenders and Public Defender Service; Rosann Mariappuram, 3L, former intern at Center for Reproductive Rights and Jane’s Due Process; Nichole Montalbano, 3L, former intern at the Travis County Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas; and Thales Smith, 2L, former intern at the Texas Attorney General’s Office. Presented by Judge Scott McCown, Clinical Professor, Children’s Rights Clinic and moderated by Lawson Konvalinka, Public Interest Career Counselor, and Kaycee Crisp, Government Career Counselor, from the CSO.  </p>
