SUMMARY:Law School 101: The Community
DESCRIPTION:<p> Bree Buchanan, JD, Director of the Texas Lawyers Assistance Program, will provide information on how to identify and respond to a law student or lawyer who may be suffering from a behavioral health issue that could ultimately impact their fitness to practice law. Students will learn the Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct that govern a lawyer’s responsibilities in this circumstance, as well as best practices in responding to a colleague who is experiencing varying degrees of an impairment. Ms. Buchanan will also provide students with information on how to access resources on campus and within the legal profession. </p>
  <p>Box lunch provided by Locke Lord LLP. Attorneys from Locke Lord will be at the law school both before an after the session to answer any questions you may have about the firm, OCI, and life as a firm lawyer.
