DESCRIPTION:<p>For our 2019 Symposium, Texas Hispanic Journal of Law &amp; Policy will host a Latino Lunch Series every Tuesday of February with speakers discussing various legal and policy issues on the U.S.-Mexico border.</p>
  <p>Border Zones I: Due Process on the Border</p>
  <p>This panel will discuss the rights U.S. Citizens, undocumented immigrants, and visa holders have on the United States border as well as the rights Mexican citizens have on the Mexican side of the border. It will discuss the due process issues implicated in the border zone for all people and how these issues are different than outside the border zone. Finally, it will discuss the militarization of the border and the implications of having an outsized government presence. Speakers include Professor Elissa Steglich and Professor Michael Churgin.</p>\n\nIf you need an accommodation to participate in this event, please contact the event sponsor or the Texas Law Special Events Office at specialevents@law.utexas.edu no later than seven business days prior to the event.
