What is a judicial clerkship you might be wondering? Or perhaps you know what a clerkship is, but are pretty sure that it’s not for you? Or, you’ve known you wanted to clerk since first grade, and want to figure out how to make yourself as competitive as possible? Or, maybe you’re thinking, “SCOTUS or Bust!”? The Clerkship Program will be hosting an introductory program on judicial clerkships on Thursday, February 13th at 3:30pm in both TNH 2.138 and 2.139. Both rooms will be joined by a group of federal judges to talk about why clerkships are particularly valuable, what they look for in clerks, and how the role of a clerk varies in different chambers and types of federal courts. Please RSVP on Symplicity to attend. The following judges will be joining us:
Hon. Leo Brisbois, United States Magistrate Judge, Minnesota (Chair, NCFTJ, 2019 – 2020)
Hon. Richard Boulware, United States District Judge, Nevada
Hon. Nannette Brown, United States District Judge, Louisiana
Hon. Diana Song-Quiroga, United States Magistrate Judge, Texas
Hon. Willie Epps, United States Magistrate Judge, Missouri
Hon. Juan Vasquez, United States Tax Court
At this meeting we will discuss the timing of your own clerkship search, things to be thinking about now if you want to clerk, and how to best position yourself to be a competitive clerkship applicant.
\n\nIf you need an accommodation to participate in this event, please contact the event sponsor or the Texas Law Special Events Office at specialevents@law.utexas.edu no later than seven business days prior to the event.
