SUMMARY:Guns, Cities, and the Constitution
DESCRIPTION:
When the Supreme Court decides a Second Amendment case, it looks to the nation’s “history and tradition.” But whose history? Much of the story of gun rights and regulation was written not in Congress or state capitols, but in city councils and town halls, and those records are scattered, incomplete, and easy to overlook.

Join us for lunch as Patrick J. Charles, Senior Historian for United States Special Operations Command, presents "The History and Tradition of Firearm Localism," co-authored with Professor Joseph Blocher and forthcoming in the Texas Law Review. Charles’s work has been cited by the Supreme Court of the United States and six federal circuits.

Hosted by the Texas Law Review.
\n\nIf you need an accommodation to participate in this event, please contact the event sponsor or the Texas Law Special Events Office at specialevents@law.utexas.edu no later than seven business days prior to the event.
