Even if you attended the previous panel on summer judicial internships, we encourage you to take advantage of this program to visit directly with judges and judicial staff over lunch about what interns do in their courts and why judicial internships are valuable. This workshop is designed for 3Ls entering public interest law, government service, or any other field that qualifies for federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness. Explore federal loan repayment and loan forgiveness programs and the UT Law Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) in greater depth in a small group setting. Bring your laptops and your questions. Nicole Simmons, Director of Public Service Programs in the CSO, and Mary Crouter, Assistant Director of the William Wayne Justice Center for Public Interest Law, will facilitate the session. He’ll discuss how to familiarize yourself with your firm's research environment, what questions to ask when you receive an assignment, and best practices for deciding where to start your research. Examples of actual summer assignments from law firms will be presented.
