    Judicial Internships: Fall & Spring

    This program provides information about judicial internships during school term, in either the fall or spring. Even if you attended the previous panel on summer judicial internships, we encourage you to take advantage of this program to visit directly with judges and judicial staff over lunch about what interns do in their courts and why judicial internships are valuable.     Public Service Debt Management

    This workshop is designed for 3Ls entering public interest law, government service, or any other field that qualifies for federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness. Explore federal loan repayment and loan forgiveness programs and the UT Law Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) in greater depth in a small group setting. Bring your laptops and your questions. Nicole Simmons, Director of Public Service Programs in the CSO, and Mary Crouter, Assistant Director of the William Wayne Justice Center for Public Interest Law, will facilitate the session. Students attending should be familiar with the material presented by Heather Jarvis from her presentation, “Public Service Loan Forgiveness in Five Easy Steps.” Lunch will be served afterwards.     Succeeding in Your Summer Clerkship

    In the first hour, learn the tips and tools you’ll need to succeed as a summer associate at a small or large firm.     At 1:00 p.m., Joe Noel, Reference Librarian and Lecturer with the Tarlton Law Library will talk about legal research strategies for summer clerkship assignments. He’ll discuss how to familiarize yourself with your firm's research environment, what questions to ask when you receive an assignment, and best practices for deciding where to start your research. Examples of actual summer assignments from law firms will be presented.
