Texas Venture Labs at UT-Austin Seeking UT Law 1Ls & 2Ls Interested in Entrepreneurship
Texas Venture Labs at The University of Texas at Austin is a campus-wide initiative with two missions: 1) accelerate start-ups from UT and Central Texas towards raising capital and taking their innovations to market; and 2) create an experience that transforms UT Graduate students into future entrepreneurs and business leaders. Their purpose is to provide the intellectual horsepower to promote new venture creation at UT-Austin through education and mentoring, market and business plan validation, team-building and networking, and providing direct links to resources and funding.
So what does that mean for you as a UT Law 1L or 2L? It means that there is an opportunity for you to work with real-world entrepreneurs tackling real-world problems and raising money from real-world investors while getting class credit for doing it. Texas Venture Labs will be recruiting a number of driven business students who are passionate about entrepreneurship and early-stage investing
This course will be offered in the Fall of 2012, but they are recruiting associates this semester. The only prerequisite is passion. They are looking for students with initiative who enjoy working in ambiguous situations and finding ways to leverage their skill sets to add value. As an associate, you will have an opportunity to work on a variety of deals at varying stages in the typical startup lifecycle.
