Diplomacy in the 21st Century
Wednesday, February 27, from 12:30-2:00 p.m. at Bass Lecture Hall
Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield will be speaking at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at a lecture titled ‘Diplomacy in the 21st Century’ sponsored by the LBJ School of Public Affairs and the U.S. State Department. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, a member of the Career Foreign Service, was sworn in on April 2, 2012 as Director General of the Foreign Service and Director of Human Resources. Prior to this appointment, she served as Ambassador to the Republic of Liberia from 2008-12. UT Law students are welcome to attend. RSVP on Eventbrite.
U.S. State Department Office of International Employment Assistance Information Session
Wednesday, February 27, 5:15-6:30 p.m. in the Bass Lecture Hall
The LBJ School of Public Affairs is hosting a representative from the State Department’s Bureau of International Organization Affairs who will provide information on how to successfully apply for positions with the United Nations and other international organizations. UT Law students are welcome to attend. (more info)
U.S. Department of State: Careers in the Foreign Service Networking Event
Thursday, February 28, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Grand Hyatt in San Antonio
This networking event will allow you the opportunity to meet experienced foreign service officers, foreign service specialists, and civil service professionals, and explore career options with the U.S. Department of State. They will explain and discuss the important work you could be doing to represent our country in the U.S. or while living and working abroad. The event will be held at the Grand Hyatt – Texas Ballroom, 600 Market Street, San Antonio, TX. Light refreshments will be served. Paid parking is available. RSVP is required as space is limited.
