What Should Associates Be Doing During COVID-19? (NALP, Werten Bellamy, March 31, 2020)

Career Counseling
Our career counselors are available to meet with you by phone, in person, or via videoconference to assist with career transitions and other career-related questions during most of the year. While we can’t act as a headhunter or placement agency, we can provide career advice, job search platforms, and other useful resources whether you are relocating, making a lateral move, or re-entering the workforce.

Reciprocity
When searching for employment outside of Texas, reciprocity with other law schools may be particularly useful. Therefore, the CSO will facilitate reciprocity requests from other ABA-accredited schools that accord reciprocal services to Texas Law.

Judicial Clerkships and Academia
We provide continuing counseling support and resources for those pursuing a lateral judicial clerkship as some judges specifically want clerks who have previous legal work experience. We also provide information and resources to establish your career in academia and can connect you with members of our faculty for additional assistance.

Alumni Connections
At more than 25,000 members strong, the Texas Law alumni network is one of the largest for any law school in the country. Our graduates live and work all around the world in virtually every sector from public service to private practice, from entrepreneurs to judges, from public interest to high-tech, from community organizers to corporate leaders. They are a tremendous asset and invaluable resource for practicing and nonpracticing lawyers everywhere. Please be sure to update your contact information for information and opportunities that may interest you.
