Description
This course will focus primarily on using legal arguments to persuade appellate judges. The course will introduce the form and writing style of an appellate brief and cover oral argument before an appellate panel. In addition, the course will have a legal research component that will explore advanced search strategies in traditional legal resources as well as introduce students to useful non-legal sources. All students will be required to research and write a complete appellate brief and make an oral argument; students will complete several smaller assignments designed to prepare them to complete these larger assignments. This course is pass/fail.Instructors
