Description

This course surveys several important legal developments in the Global War on Terror. Topics covered will include the "law of war"; the designation of persons as "enemy combatants" and the legal consequences of such designation; military tribunals; wartime detention; interrogation; and the role of the judiciary in time of war. Each issue will be analyzed by reference to a variety of legal materials including: regulations, statutes, constitutional law, and international law. Grades will be based on final examination. This course may not be repeated for credit.
