Description
The course will introduce students to the U.S. law governing original works of authorship (such as books, music, plays, paintings, photographs, motion pictures, architectural works, computer programs, etc.). We will consider, among other issues, what subject matter is protected by copyright law, the requirements for protection, the rights afforded by copyright, the acts that constitute infringement of those rights, and the remedies available for such infringement. Although our focus will be on federal law, we will occasionally consider state law and international law as appropriate.Instructors
