Description
A course designed to cover the law of trademarks and service marks. Subject areas include: nature of marks; distinctiveness; acquisition of rights in marks; registration; loss of rights; infringement; defenses; remedies; trade dress; unfair competition; dilution; assignment and licensing; domain name and other Internet issues; false advertising; protection of marks outside the United States. There are no prerequisites. Enrollment is limited to 18 students. Materials required for the class will be announced later. Evaluation will be by standard examination.Instructors
