Description

This course will examine the rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO) concerning international trade in goods and services, including tariff and non- tariff barriers to trade; the Most Favored Nation and National Treatment obligations; antidumping and countervailing duties; safeguard measures, and intellectual property rights. Students will also study the relationship between WTO rules and regional trade systems, such as the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA); and the impact of trade rules in areas such as environmental protection, consumer protection, and human rights.
