Description

Wind Law will cover federal and state governmental incentives for wind- generated electricity; regulations dealing with the location of wind farms; acquisition and content of wind leases; issues, such as claims of nuisance and environmental problems, that arise from the location of wind farms; "property" issues, such as severance of wind rights from all other ownership rights; transmission of wind-generated electricity, and marketing. Because this is a new course, there are no casebooks, treatises or other published materials, so the assignments will be primarily linked to cases on Lexis and Westlaw, websites, and material on Blackboard. Some material may be distributed in hardcopy. Oil and Gas Law is not a prerequisite but would be quite helpful.
