Description
Regulation of Broadcasting, Cable, and Telecommunications. 2 Units. This course examines the rationales for, and structures of, regulating broadcasting, cable and telecommunications. We will concentrate on entry controls (the need for licenses or franchises); economic controls (such as price controls or required interconnection); content controls (e.g. prohibition of indecency in broadcasting between 6 AM and 10 PM); and finish with a regulation that is a bit of both economic and content control (net neutrality).Instructors
