Class Unique: 28880
This course will cover finance of commercial real estate projects, including loan commitments, loan agreements, promissory notes, mortgages and deeds of trust, foreclosure and other loan collection methods, a brief review of bankruptcy law applied to commercial real estate loans, and a brief exposure to securitized real estate finance. A traditional casebook will be used together with supplemental materials collected by the instructor. The plan for the final evaluation is a regular in clasroom exam with true-false, multiple choice questions, and essays. It will have a two hour time limit and word limits for each essay question. Learning and relevant social opportunities beyond the classroom are offered.
The course will be a two hour course this year to accomodate the teacher's travel schedule. We will start as usual but have a break in the middle of the semester while I am away, then resume and end at the time scheduled for exams. In order to do that and comply with ABA requirements, we will have classes which are 75 minutes long twice a week as a three hour class would, but fewer of them total over the semester.
