Description

This course examines the role of unions and collective bargaining in American society. We explore the role of law in helping and hindering union organization. We will consider whether the NLRA functions to protect workers or acts as a hindrance to their aspirations. What changes in basic labor law are called for. We will discuss the strength and weaknesses of collective bargaining and the successes and failures of labor arbitration. Evaluation will be by take-home examination.
