Description
With tools applicable in most areas of the legal profession, this course focuses primarily on strategic planning in litigation. Students will apply classical strategic thinking from theorists such as Sun Tzu, Clausewitz, and Thucydides, and modern strategic concepts from psychology, economics, military science and systems theory to sample cases in order to gain experience developing and evaluating practical, realistic and effective strategies for legal application. Prerequisites: None, however, students who have taken Analytic Methods for Lawyers (LAW 235C, 335C, or 435C) will find ready application for those tools in the strategic context.Textbooks ( * denotes required )
