Description
This seminar will examine the substantial role that state administrative agencies play in Texas jurisprudence and the lives of Texas citizens. Students will examine case studies that touch on various elements of administrative law, including the separation-of-powers doctrine, due process under the U.S. and Texas Constitutions, the Administrative Procedure Act ("APA"), legislative intent as respects the powers and limitations of administrative agencies, and the standard of review applied to administrative appeals. Each student will be expected to complete a substantial research paper on one of those topics or a similar one.
