Center for Women in Law Founding Member Susan Blount was one of six general counsel to receive the Legends in Law award on June 11th. The Legends in Law Award is one of the Burton Awards for Legal Achievement. Presented at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. among inspiring women in law such as Supreme Court Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the Burton Awards are considered one of the most esteemed awards in the legal profession. As a non-profit organization, the Burton Awards strive to reward and recognize major achievements in law from literary to reformatory. The Legends in Law award is reserved for general counsel who demonstrate elite abilities in companies which garnered over $1 billion as of 2010. Susan serves as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Prudential Financials Inc.
