During her acceptance speech for the inaugural Hortense Ward Courageous Leader Award, Mary B. Cranston – Retired Senior Partner and Immediate Past Chair of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP – emphasized the important role that the “sisterhood” played in securing opportunity for her generation of women lawyers. The award was conferred at the Center’s 5th Anniversary Celebration & Awards Luncheon on Friday, April 11. Reflecting on the occasion, Cranston commented:
“The Center for Women in Law at the University of Texas School of Law has been the source of some of the most innovative and impactful leadership initiatives in law. It’s hard to believe it has only been around five years. Special thanks to Linda Chanow and the visionary founders of the Center.”
