Christine Montoya has worked at State Farm Insurance Companies for the past twenty-two years. She currently handles risk assessment, regulatory and compliance matters, and jurisdictional issues. Prior to working in-house she worked at a law firm in Houston, clerked for a U.S. Attorney and handled court appointed juvenile criminal cases.
Christine completed a combined degree program at Baylor University where she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration and law degrees. For many years she has judged advocacy competitions including Mock Trial, Moot Court and Negotiations at the University of Texas School of Law and has twice been awarded the Platinum Judge award. She has also judged statewide competitions for the State Bar of Texas. She was nominated for an Austin Business Journal – Best of Business Attorney Team Award. She was the 2008 Association of Corporate Counsel – Austin Chapter President when it was the first chapter to receive both the Chapter of the Year and Chapter Challenge awards. She has been a board member of the ACC National Litigation Committee and has presented at the ACC National Annual Meeting. Christine also served four years on the State Bar of Texas – Texas Minority Counsel Program Steering Committee. She is very committed to pro bono service and diversity/inclusion issues.
