Linda Addison is a corporate board member and Immediate Past U.S. Managing Partner, Chair of the U.S. Management Committee, and global board member of Norton Rose Fulbright. She is founding President of the Center for Women in Law. The American Bar Associationhonored her with its prestigious Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of the Achievement Award, the ABA’s highest award recognizing the accomplishments of women lawyers who have excelled in their field and paved the way to success for other women.
Crain’s New York Businessnamed Linda one of the “50 Most Powerful Women in New York.” Linda also has been named one of the “50 Most Influential Women Lawyers in America” and one of the “100 Most Influential Lawyers in America,” both by the National Law Journal. The Texas Lawyerhonored her with its first Lifetime Achievement Award, and the New York Law Journal honored her as a “Distinguished Leader.”
Linda is a member of the Board of Directors and Compensation Committee of Torchmark Corporation (NYSE:TMK), an S&P 500 company. She is also an independent board member of KPMG LLP, the US audit, tax and advisory firm. She serves on the non-profit boards of Catalyst, the MD Anderson Cancer Center Foundation, and the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Center for Energy, Law and Business. She is a Trustee of the University of Texas Law School Foundation, a Life Member of the Executive Committee of the University of Texas System, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
In 2008, Linda was named an Outstanding Alumna of the University of Texas School of Law, the first female practicing lawyer to receive this award. In 2013, she was named a Distinguished Alumna of The University of Texas at Austin. In 2015, University of Austin President Bill Powers honored her with the Presidential Citation, which recognizes “the extraordinary contributions of individuals who personify the University's commitment to the task of transforming lives.”
