Ross Fischer is an attorney in the Austin and recently served as the Chairman of the Legislative and Campaign Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. Throughout his career, Ross has developed a reputation as a subject matter expert in the areas of Texas political campaign finance and compliance, professional ethics and public integrity matters. In 2005, the governor appointed Ross to the Texas Ethics Commission where he served for five years, including as its Chairman from December 2008 to December 2009. The Texas Ethics Commission regulates political action committees, political campaigns, officeholders, and lobbyists in the State of Texas. The Commission investigates and adjudicates alleged statutory violations, promulgates rules, and issues advisory opinions interpreting relevant Texas law. In August 2014, he was appointed by the Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives to serve on the Select Interim Committee to Study Ethics Laws.

Throughout Ross’s career, he has served the public in multiple roles. As Assistant Chief Disciplinary Counsel for the State Bar of Texas, he prosecuted grievances against attorneys across Texas. He further served as an appointed and subsequently elected County Attorney in his home county of Kendall County. He continues to serve as legal counsel for multiple Texas cities, counties, and other local governmental entities. Additionally, Ross assists private corporations, associations, political committees, officeholders, and candidates in campaign finance compliance, professional ethics and public integrity matters.
