Biography
William R. Allensworth founded Allensworth and Porter in 1995 and has tried about 50 cases to Texas juries in state and federal courts, together with several dozens of appeals.
Mr. Allensworth has taught more than 15 semesters of courses in Construction Law and in Construction Litigation at the University of Texas School of Law. He is a Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers and was the founder and initial chairman of the Construction Law Section of the Travis County Bar Association. He received a J.D. degree, with high honors, from Texas Tech University in 1974 and a B.A. degree in Economics from Austin College in 1968. Prior to attending law school, he served as a Lieutenant in Battery K, 4th Battalion, 11th Marines in the former Republic of Vietnam.
Mr. Allensworth recently co-edited a textbook on Construction Law that was published by the American Bar Association for use in law schools throughout the nation.
