J. L. Turner Legal Association Foundation Minority Student Scholarships
For more than two decades, the J. L. Turner Legal Association Foundation, the African-American Bar Association of Dallas, has awarded scholarships to 2L and 3L minority law students attending law school who are from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Sponsorships from the Annual Scholarship and Awards Gala are used to fund the following scholarships:

❖ NEW Teegan Hill Memorial Scholarship
❖ Barbara Jordan Scholarship
❖ Fred Finch Scholarship
❖ Honorable Phyllis Lister Brown Memorial Scholarship
❖ Marie Trahan/Susman Godfrey Scholarship
❖ Richard Stewart JAG Corp. U.S. Navy Legal Education Scholarship
❖ Financial need awards
All application materials must be received by October 8, 2021. Winners will be notified by October 16, 2021. Winners may participate in the award ceremony virtually. Funds will be dispersed after winners provide Fall 2021 grades, Spring 2022 class schedule, and their current mailing address to the Scholarship Committee, essentially in January-February 2022.
Applicants are required to submit a resume, transcript, essay, letter of reference, photo, and financial need statement (if applicable).
