State Bar of Texas – Aviation Scholarship

Every year, the Section awards a scholarship to a student who has an interest in aviation law. This year the scholarship is in the amount of $5000. All applicants will also become members of the Aviation Law Section for one year at no cost to the applicant.

• The applicant must be a law student in good standing with his or her school who has an interest in practicing aviation law.
•  The applicant must be a member of the State Bar of Texas Aviation Law Section, or must fill out the attached application to be automatically enrolled for free.
•  The applicant will submit a brief of 500 words or less covering an aviation case opinion that was decided between 2020-2022 that you think is important for our industry.
•  The brief must be submitted in PDF form via email to Kerry Adams (kadams@bellnunnally.com) by May 1, 2023.
• Applications will be judged on the following criteria: o Technical writing skill, including compliance with the Blue Book and Green Book; o Flow of narrative; o Applicability of case selected to aviation law as a whole; and/or o Interest in aviation law.
