Understanding Contemporary Brazil | BRASA 2020 Featured Panel
The Rapoport Center is proud to sponsor a BRASA 2020 featured panel, titled “Understanding Contemporary Brazil.” The session will feature Davi Pereira Junior, PhD Candidate in Latin American Studies, University of Texas at Austin; Leonardo Sakamoto, Journalist, Political Scientist, and Professor at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo; and Marizete de Souza, Activist, Terra Indígena Raposa Serra do Sol.
The Brazilian Studies Association, or BRASA, is an international, interdisciplinary group of scholars who support and promote Brazilian studies in all fields, especially in the humanities and social sciences. BRASA is dedicated to the promotion of Brazilian studies around the world in general, and in the United States in particular.
BRASA organizes an international conference on Brazilian studies every other year. The most recent conference, BRASA XIV, took place at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica in Rio de Janeiro on July 25-28, 2018.
