For this edition of Texas Law’s Student Spotlight series, meet 1L Bardia Arasteh!
Q: What inspired you to be a founding member of the Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda at LSU?
My inspiration came from a lifelong interest in the way that businesses are formed, managed, and innovate themselves to survive. I had many odd jobs growing up, mostly because I was interested in the inner workings of any business I could get my hands on, whether it was a restaurant, a referee organization, or a remittance processing service. I hope to continue this passion as a lawyer working closely with many businesses.
Q: What has been your inspiration to come to law school?
My inspiration to come to law school mainly stems from my deep-seated love of logic, policy, (the cliché:) ‘the law’, and how they all shape and affect society. Whether my career path leads me into politics, business, or academia, I am at ease knowing I am helping maintain and improve the justice system for the next generation of Americans.
Q: What sorts of things are you engaged in at Texas Law?
I’m a member of the Middle Eastern and North African Law Students’ Association (MENALSA), a newly formed Texas Law student organization. Although only in the first year, there have already been several events and more have been planned in the future. I’m also looking forward to participating in several pro bono immigration projects this year with Texas Law’s Richard and Ginni Mithoff Pro Bono Program.
