Election Protection Project with the Texas Civil Rights Project

Students will work as part of a team of lawyer, law student, and paralegal volunteers in the Texas Election Protection “boiler room” to answer voters’ questions and untangle their problems to ensure that all registered Texas voters are able to cast a ballot that is accurately counted. Texas Election Protection is a coalition of nonprofit groups working to protect the vote through the 866-OUR-VOTE hotline. Texas Election Protection offers non-partisan “customer service” to voters by answering any questions they have about the voting process, from the most basic to the most complex issues. Texas Election Protection’s legal volunteers have helped more than 15,000 Texans overcome barriers to voting since 2018.
