Homeless Defense Education with Homeless Defense Project – FULL

Law students will compile and simplify educational materials around no sit, no lie, no camping, and no solicitation laws. Materials will take the form of flyers, pamphlets, and/or presentation slides. Materials will be used to educate Austin’s homeless population about constitutional issues surrounding laws, such as those that exist in Austin, that make it a crime to sit or lie down on a sidewalk.

Organization

Homeless Defense Project

The Homeless Defense Project is a student-led internal project of the Richard and Ginni Mithoff Pro Bono Program. The Homeless Defense Project is working in collaboration with the Texas Law Criminal Defense Clinic to raise constitutional challenges to Austin’s no sit no lie ordinances.
