Students will help prepare humanitarian parole applications for Afghan nationals who are currently in danger and hiding in Afghanistan. Humanitarian parole is a tool that allows certain individuals to enter and stay in the U.S. without a visa for urgent humanitarian reasons.

- Students should expect to spend between 6-12 hours total on the project by project completion in mid-November; after training, students will be assigned to work on cases on a rolling basis, with work completed within 2 weeks of case assignment

- Students with experience or knowledge living or working in Afghanistan are encouraged to apply; previous immigration law experience helpful but not required; Dari or Pashto language skills are helpful but not required, as students will be working primarily with English-language information collected by VECINA and/or the referring organization
