Legal Observers Project with the Austin Lawyers Guild

Students will serve as legal observers during the Pilgrimage for Immigration Reform on November 19 through 21. Legal observers will watch and document interactions between law enforcement officials and individuals participating in the Pilgrimage. During the Pilgrimage, immigrant families will spend three days traveling from Hutto to Austin, Texas, in commemoration of the one-year anniversary of the announcement of the DAPA and expanded DACA programs, forms of immigration relief that would have benefited 5 million individuals but whose implementation has been blocked as a result of a suit brought by the State of Texas.
