Medicaid Evidence Workshop with Texas Law INCLUDE Project

Students will help Medicaid recipients obtain medically-necessary nursing, services, or equipment through the fair hearing administrative process. The project involves two sessions, and priority will be given to student volunteers who can attend both sessions. In the first session, students will review and prepare summaries of evidence packets. In the second session, students will use the evidence summaries to draft letters of medical necessity, interrogatories, and complaints. Students also may interview clients and/or their families via phone as scheduling permits.

Organization

INCLUDE Project, Mithoff Pro Bono Program

The INCLUDE Project enables students with interests in disability and related areas of law to provide free legal serves to persons with disabilities and their families. INCLUDE is an internal project of the Richard and Ginni Mithoff Pro Bono Program, in partnership with the William Wayne Justice Center for Public Interest Law. The Medicaid Evidence Workshop is a collaboration between INCLUDE and Disability Rights Texas, the federally-funded Protection and Advocacy entity providing free legal services to persons with disabilities in Texas.
