Pre-Booking Reform Project with Texas Criminal Justice Coalition

Students will analyze and code affidavits for possession of controlled substance (POCS) offenses of less than one gram in Travis County. Students will learn about pre-booking practices for POCS offenses and will code for information like biographical data, circumstance of arrest, substance in question, and outstanding warrants (if any).

The Texas Criminal Justice Coalition (TCJC) advances solutions and builds coalitions to reduce mass incarceration and foster safer Texas communities. TCJC is operating the Pre-Booking Reform Project in partnership with Grassroots Leadership and the Texas Civil Rights Clinic.
