Students will help parents navigate the administrative process for special education requests and access appropriate services for their children. The Special Education Project involves a collaboration between INCLUDE and Disability Rights Texas.

INCLUDE Project, Mithoff Pro Bono Program
The INCLUDE Project enables students with interests in disability and probate law to provide free legal services to persons with disabilities and their families. INCLUDE is an internal project of the Richard and Ginni Mithoff Pro Bono Program, in partnership with the William Wayne Justice Center for Public Interest Law.

- Students should expect to spend approximately 10 hours total on special education case work, in addition to training; after training, students will be assigned to cases on a rolling bases as referrals are received

- Friday, September 8, 12pm-2pm, in TNH 2.138

- Client interviewing/counseling; mediating between those with divergent interests; cultural competence; document preparation; legal research and writing

- Students will work with Prof. Lucy Wood at the law school; students also may work with parents at schools and other locations
