Students will facilitate small group sessions and guide parents through activities designed to educate them about their special education rights and how to access appropriate services for their children. The September 18 event is the first session in a three-part education and training series for families in Austin whose children are in special education.

INCLUDE Project, Mithoff Pro Bono Program
The INCLUDE Project enables students with interests in disability and probate law to provide free legal services to persons with disabilities and their families. SPEAK is a collaboration between INCLUDE and the Thurgood Marshall Legal Society. SPEAK aims to address disparities in special education that adversely impact communities of color and to disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline by addressing students’ educational needs. INCLUDE is an internal project of the Richard and Ginni Mithoff Pro Bono Program, in partnership with the William Wayne Justice Center for Public Interest Law.
