Foreign Judge Fellowship

Through the generous support of the MD Anderson Foundation, the Institute has a long-standing record of supporting foreign judges in their pursuit of a master’s degree in law from Texas Law. The program continues to fund a full scholarship and living expenses of at least one German judge for the Texas Law LL.M. Program each year. The Institute looks forward to extending this program in the future to support judges and legal scholars from Latin America in conjunction with The University of Texas Latin American Initiative as well as excellent judges from around the world.

I am an MD Anderson Fellow from Cologne, Germany, pursuing an LL.M. degree with a Business Law Concentration at the University of Texas School of Law. I mainly focus on Comparative Law and Dispute Resolution topics. Before coming to Texas, I was a Judge at the Regional Court (Landgericht) of Cologne and the Municipal Court (Amtsgericht) of Wermelskirchen, dealing with criminal and civil law matters. Following my lifetime appointment in 2014, I mainly worked on white-collar crime cases at the Regional Court of Cologne. I graduated from the University of Bonn Faculty of Law and Economics and subsequently worked as a law clerk in different positions in public institutions and law firms in Germany (Bonn, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Speyer) and the United Kingdom (London).
